ASHDOD DESALINATION PLANT

Capacity:  100 million m3/year

The Ashdod desalination plant is located on the coastal city of Ashdod in Israel.

‘Mekorot Development and Enterprise’ signed an agreement with the Israeli Government for the construction   of  the  desalination  facility  in  August 2011 for  a  plant that will  supply 100 million  cubic metres of desalinated seawater annually to the National Water Carrier.

The  Ashdod  desalination plant  start  operating   in 2015,  and  is   currently  supplying   around  15% of Israel’s domestic water consumption.

It  is   one  of the  largest  SWRO  desalination  plant working  with  Ultra  Filtration  {UF)  as  pre treatment process.
