About Us
Our Vision
The Israeli Desalination Society (IDS) was established in 1998 at the center of a very problematic period in terms of water supply in Israel with the aim of promoting the issue of desalination in Israel and around the world.
The desalination industry is a major component of the national resilience of Israel, and IDS works to promote and develop desalination technologies and provide solutions to environmental and regulatory challenges, without any profit or business interest.
IDS organizes annual conferences, each of them is planned to ensure the promotion of desalination & water treatment technologies as sustainable solutions to the water situation in the country.
We are proud of the fact that Israel has become a world desalination & water treatment power. After the construction of 5 large desalination plants that provide about 83% of municipal water consumption, while improving the quality of water and seats for agriculture. To this end, IDS is home to all relevant sectors in the field – from universities and research institutes, industrial bodies, desalination and water treatment plants, to public authorities and government ministries – and engages in public information and media activities to make the environmental and economic aspects of the desalination world accessible to the general public.
IDS is eager to present and share the innovative solutions that are the core of the Israeli water industry, as well as to learn from the experience of others.
IDS is cooperating with IDA, EDS and other parallel associations from around the world, in order to create professional cooperation and knowledge sharing with all desalination & water treatment communities worldwide.
